The beautiful lodge consists of the main building and 3 en-suite chalets, sleeping a total of 6. These buildings are unique in that some of the walls are built from plastered straw bales, allowing for efficient climate control. This low impact building style makes use of extensive decking and viewing platforms onto the Koperspruit and the wonderful surrounds of open veld, koppies and spectacular sunsets. Although we are not certified as such, we are sure that Bloemtuin Lodge is at least carbon neutral.
The early settlers to the region named the farm after the abundance of indigenous flowers in the spring and the magnificent aloes flowering in the winter months.The bird life is as diverse as the vegetation and it is not unusual to hear 5 different varieties of francolin and spurfowl jointly serenading another beautiful day in the bush!
Bring your telescopes for starry nights and your binoculars for the elusive buffalos and secretary birds! Sit around a bush fire out on the main deck or snuggle up to the crackling fireplace in our cosy lounge.
